Mellowtel Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the Mellowtel service. By opting in to Mellowtel, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must opt out and/or discontinue use of any plugin or application importing the Mellowtel library.

1. Opt-In and Opt-Out Controls

Users may opt in or opt out of Mellowtel at any time via the following control panel:
https://www.mellow.tel/user-control

This control panel is independent from any specific plugin and provides full user control

2. Developer Obligations and Liability

Plugins or applications that integrate the Mellowtel library are required to:

  • Display a clear opt-in and opt-out mechanism to end users.
  • Link to the Mellowtel user control panel or to the settings page to allow direct user management.

Mellowtel conducts periodic checks to ensure that developers are compliant. However, if a developer fails to implement the required opt-in/opt-out mechanisms or misrepresents Mellowtel’s behavior, Mellowtel assumes no legal responsibility for their negligence.
The developer or publisher of the plugin holds full liability for any legal consequences arising from non-compliance.

3. Third-Party and Restricted Networks

Mellowtel does not verify the nature of the networks through which its services operate.
If you are on a third-party, corporate, educational, or ISP-restricted network, it is your responsibility to:

  • Review your network or ISP’s terms of service
  • Ensure that your participation in Mellowtel is compliant
  • Opt out via https://www.mellow.tel/user-control if you are unsure or prohibited from participating.

Mellowtel disclaims all liability arising from users participating while on restricted networks.

4. Data Collection, Privacy, and GDPR Compliance

Mellowtel does not collect, sell, or share any personally identifiable information (PII) from end users. The library loads publicly available websites needed by AI companies in a sessionless frame, completely unrelated to the browsing data of users or their cookies (like an incognito effemeral tab)

To help prevent abuse and malicious activity, Mellowtel uses the user's IP address. This is used solely to:

  • Infer geographic region (country level)
  • Detect and mitigate abuse from repeated access patterns
  • Implement rate-limiting protections

The IP address is hashed and is not used to track or identify individuals. This process is designed to be compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as the data is neither used nor stored in a way that allows personal identification.

In any case, if users are still concerned about this practice, they are encouraged to opt out at any time via the control panel:
https://www.mellow.tel/user-control

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

Mellowtel shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

This includes, but is not limited to, damages related to:

  • Violation of third-party network or ISP terms
  • Improper use of the Mellowtel library by developers
  • Legal claims related to user location, consent, or network conditions

Users and developers are fully responsible for ensuring compliance with their own legal, contractual, and network obligations.

6. Modifications

Mellowtel may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Users are encouraged to review this page periodically.
